If this is a RPM, how would one preserve this coin from corroding any further?

I'm not expert but I would call that RPM with corrosion, given that the doubling is to the upper left and most corrosion I've seen occurs to the lower right. As for dealing with corrosion, I know nothing :)

It does appear to be both...a corroded RPM.
