Found a 1968-D in a collection I picked up. I was looking at the back and didn't see a "FG" on it. Is that normal?
Thanks in advance.

When a die is over polished, the shallow devices can be polished away from the die. It was on the design, but now it is no longer on the coins because the fields were thinned and part of the shallow devices went away.

It's not normal but it's not abnormal...this makes sense, I promise.

Over polished dies caused this error. Making the devices too thin.

It's fine to keep as an example of an over polished die, but the value is still only one cent.
