Hi all. Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask. My Dad passed away recently & I've come into possession of a few Canadian Silver dollars & half dollars. No key dates or anything in great condition. I've got the bug now & I picked up few others but for now, I've decided to focus on pre 67 silver dollars,1912-14 $5 & $10 gold, Canadian sovereigns, as well as the $2 dollar gold Newfoundland. I'm also thinking about the 10 & 20 gold 1873-1914 Prussian gold mark (My Dad was from Berlin). I moved to Scotland a while ago, so to avoid paying duty I'm looking for European sellers. I understand it's the high grades that are likely to appreciate in value, so I'm looking for comments on this one from France. I'd like to know 1. Is is real? 2. Does the grade seem accurate? 3. Is the price fair for what it is? and 4. Should I maybe hold out for another one of higher grade? Many thanks in advance

You can find that coin graded by NGC or PCGS for a similar price. For a new collector buying valuable coins a TPG authenticity and grade is warranted.

Hi moxking. I'd prefer a graded one, but living in Scotland I'd pay customs & duty (20% + fees) on anything I buy from outside the EU. This is why I'm asking for opinions about this one. I don't want to pay more than necessary.

Hi kuh_85. I did see that guide before. I suppose what I'm really asking is the coin's grade worth the money? It looks good to me, (it seems nicer than others I've seen online) but I admit I really have no idea.

That coin is overpriced by at least a factor of 2.
You should reconsider your strategy here and do a bit more research.
