2008 Nickel With Weird Reverse Circles!

Newbie234 Pillar of the Community United States 1386 Posts	Posted 08/15/2017 10:39 am I'm calling this the crop circle nickel. But I have no idea what would cause these circles. The encompass the entire reverse. They are faint,and won't wipe off.Although hard to see in some of the pics you can see they run through either side of Monticello. Very hard to picture. Errers and Varietys Bedrock of the Community United States 75317 Posts	Posted 08/15/2017 11:33 am Lathe lines. The mint is supposed make it so they're gone and not on the coin. Nice to see they forgot to polish the end of the stock material before creating a new die. Those lines are the clue that it was forgotten. Not to be confused with die scratches.
