  For this round, I am going back to matching design elements. This offering is a very nice and large medal in antiqued silver celebrating Newfoundland & Labrador's entry into Confederation in 1949-Canada's last province. Points will be awarded as follows: 1. 2 for a medal, 1 for a coin (since anyone can enter a coin, this also serves as a participation point) 2. 2 for something in silver, 1 for any other metal. 3. 2 for 38 millimeters or bigger (US silver dollar size), one for smaller ones. 4. One point each for any of these design elements: a. Year 1974 b. Year 1949 c. A Ship d. Word Newfoundland e. Word Labrador f. Word Confederation g. Word Anniversary h. Word Matthew i. Any Latin Motto j. Any person showing the full body (not just a bust) k. Animals: i. Moose ii. Lion iii. Unicorn The winner will be declared about 7 pm Friday. |

Here's my entry, 1957 Ceylon 5 Rupees 2500 Years of Buddhism. This is 39mm and .925 silver. From Numista: Quote:

Didn't know if the duplication of animals counts and how that would be...if each pictured animal is what is to be counted then it's 16+8=24. Otherwise it would be 4+1=5 KINDS of animal. Thhen points for silver and size added to that figure  See Boss, I really can do it....  And then, one animal(or two) in center is a lion... Thatd one or two additional points besides being animals? I knew you could, but I was stumped like you on how to count the animals. The list is specific, so I do not know what counts. |

@crazy, 2 points for silver, 2 points for large, 1 for a coin and one for the lion: 6 points.
Only a single point for each type of animal: maximum 3 if you have all the animals.

I didn't think I had anything for this round, and then I remembered something I bought off of Crazy0 a while ago. A complete set of Shell oil Canadian Provinces Medals. This one happened to be in it.  2 points for a medal 1 point for metal other than silver 1 point for smaller than 38mm 1 point for 1949 1 point for Newfoundland 1 point for a Person showing full body 3 points for having a lion, Moose, and a unicorn. Total is 10 points. This may be an 11 pointer if this is a Latin Phrase. I am not sure what this says. The first word is Prime but the second word eludes me.  Edit. Having looked at the challenge coin again I believe the banner above is supposed to read the same way. So this would be worth 11 points then? Edited by MontCollector
