Im a bit confused Jbuck did I post the wrong thing? Originally It stated a coin, Which is what I posted, Then someone stated they were confused that I posted a very early coin, which is my earliest and lowest dem. Was that not the challenge? Only after the Token was posted it was changed to coin/token which is fine that happens. I am just confused about why coin cause some confusion? With that being stated, MontCollector, Its a beautiful Token and I would be very proud to own it too. Congrats on your win! Excited to see what the next challenge is.

Not trying to be, wife says its my oxycodone that screws up the brain, just might be. Sometimes things aren't clear to me anymore.

A Special Gift

I have won coins in contests and received extra coins with purchases or swaps, always are they appreciated and remembered for what they were. But what makes it special? Story-time!

Years ago, I was part of a group, name of it isn't important, but there was a practice to GIVE gifts on your birthday. It was quite the thing to think of 10 or so gifts to give away, not getting anything in return. The purpose was to show you what true, unfettered giving was. Quite different at first, until I began to get a real kick out of people trying to figure out what (if anything... ) I had thought to get them. This happened for four or five years. Sometimes I gave out gag gifts, others a serious thought out gift(I'd hoped), it was always fun. Of course, I'm no dummy, I like receiving gifts as much as the next guy, but found a better thrill in giving the gift over just getting one. Guess that's why I've always put an extra coin or two in what I sell, a bit more, a little surprise. So each time I have given out, I normally expect nothing in return, well maybe a thank you would be nice!

So when I receive anything, out of the blue, unsolicited, it is greatly appreciated, I'm deeply touched. The other day, for no other reason than a electronic friendship developed through CCF, I received this coin from Scopru. He had no idea of what foreign coins I still collect but sent this Prussian 2 1/2 Groshen. Little did he know, when I sold off all my foreign coin collection two years ago I kept three areas of interest. Of course, all the silver coins of which this Groshen fits well with. I saved a couple old Jetons and medals, which history behind them intrigued me, and I saved the German States series of which this Groshen fits perfectly. Is there anything special about this coin, a variety, rarity? No, a very common coin of the time and place. But, it sits in my binder book of valuable foreign coins, with a note of when and from who, as a nice reminder there are a few nice ones left out there. Thank you Scopru! Semper Fi!

I will have to think on it, but I am not sure I have anything to post. I believe I've given out much more than I've received.
