While I love the participation, I may have to rethink the scoring when it comes to crests. I was unaware of that lyre on British and Canadian coins. I knew of the Irish coins, but those haven't been posted en mass. There are simply too many of the same coins, so I think it's only fair to reward creativity. For instance, Keith12 is the only one to post a DC quarter. To be clear, I would never adjust rules to favor any particular participant. Let's see something different! Alas, there aren't very many musical instruments among my 253 images... I'll try to add more if I think of any, but as of right now, I can only post those two:   Kingdom of Ireland, George III, Hibernia half penny, 17xx (date worn away). Harp (almost invisible on this example).   Ukraine, 200000 karbovantsiv 1996, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. Bell. Because if it isn't, it's in pretty bad taste. More specifically: the main problem with such "post all your Xs" rounds is that it's basically impossible to win if you don't happen to be one of the power-photographers with lots of pics of everything. (It can also be rather boring to look at when, as in this case, the X shows up on a long-running common type and the power-photographer just posts all the oodles of dates they have. Though IMHO "several dozen assorted commemoratives that happen to show a X" isn't that much better either.) As such, the baton keeps passing among the same small subset of participants right up until 1) one of them gets tired and makes a more traditional round, and/or 2) someone else gets really lucky. (For what it's worth, I've had what I thought was a really good idea for a round since at least March, but over the last few weeks I had so far been unable to get even close to winning. The big guys, like Dorado, always surpass me in quantity, and almost always surpass me in quality.) |

Another Liberty Bell coin - United States -- 50 cents, 1926:   I'm surprised that we haven't seen any of those Austrian Philharmonic coins with 9 musical instruments per coin. |
