Ok guys its been a good round I think?... I'm about 6 hours ahead of you...So I'll wind this up at midnight your time tonight. So you've got about 5 hours more if anyone wants to add a coin...and will post the winner tomorrow morning early GMT once I've drunk my first coffee  .....Thanks to all who have posted...The leader board hasn't changed as of yet.... @Dorado... I count 28 vowels that would have counted if the mintage criteria was met plus a star total 30 |

I thought that last round went well so I borrowed heavily from Palouche (also I'm running out of ideas). Hopefully it isn't so similar that it is boring. Criteria: 1- A circulating coin from the 1800s or 1900s 2- Basically round 3- Mintage under 30 million 4- Once a country has been posted (coin must be eligible for points) it cannot be used again. Points: 1. Number of words (Latin based script) used which roughly follow the circular shape of the coin. Abbreviated words, dates, and numbers count as words. 1 word = 1 point 2. Depicts a crown = 2 points 3. Has a hole (as minted) or is bimetallic = 2 points 4. Bilingual = 2 points - Bonus 1 point if the same thing written in two different languages 5. Fractional denomination (as written on the coin) = 2 points In the case of a tie, the earlier post wins. 1934 British West Africa 1/10 penny  Words 15 = 15 points Crown = 2 points Hole = 2 points Bilingual (or tri-)= 2 points +1 bonus (denomination written in english and Arabic) Fractional denomination = 2 points ("one tenth of a penny") Total = 24 points You cannot use a coin from British West Africa This round ends Monday around 11pm forum time. This may be interesting, but it needs clarification first. Specifically, "word" needs to be more defined. Quote:

So then, do words in different alphabets not count? Yes, that is a typo. It is 15 words. "V" and "1934" would both count as words according to the rules. I should have specified to use only the Latin based script for determining the number of words. I will add this to the rules and correct the typo. Thanks |

With that clarification, I'll submit another Jeff:  Points: 1. Number of words = 15 2. Depicts a crown = No 3. Has a hole (as minted) or is bimetallic = No 4. Bilingual = 2 points - Yes, English & Latin 5. Fractional denomination (as written on the coin) = I am not sure. Probably not, based on the challenge coin. It is a fraction of a dollar, though.
