Sorry for the late conclusion to this round. I had to do a little research to decide who the winner was, as it appeared @spence played two "Austrian" coins and @j1m possibly two "Russian" coins. It seems that @spence's coins are more directly related as Austria-Hungary would be an obvious successor. The situation with @j1m Pantikapaion coin leaves more doubt as to whether it could be a coin from a direct predecessor to Russia, especially since Crimea is not (at least to my understanding) recognized internationally as part of Russia regardless of who controls it.

Therefore, the winner is January1may.

My apologies for making what should have been a simple round very complicated.

No prob. For me, assembling that group of coins probably took about an hour. Most of the time, I'm able to fire off a submission with less than 10 minutes of searching.

I look forward to seeing what @j1m has for us next.

If J1M has not posted a challenge by midnight forum time, the first one to post can host the next round.

It looks like you just beat me to the punch @paulouche. I cede the floor while we do your challenge and will save mine for some later time.

Apologies @Spence....I saw the thread had ground to a halt and thought I'd keep it moving as I had a challange prepared from a while back....Hopefully you've got some creature coins and will be able to use your challange next....Paul
