Quote: So, shall we wrap this up tonight, or wait until Saturday? Spence still has the lead. I actually have a match, but I wasn't sure if I should post it now, or defer to Spence. To be honest, I expected that someone else would have posted a match by now already. It's not a particularly uncommon coin, to be honest. (The 1947 issues, of any denomination, are indeed much rarer.)

Seems like we are still getting entries. Maybe keep it open into Saturday?
Edit: go for it @j1m!

I decided that I might as well keep things open for the actual match. (Yes, I actually have one of those too.) The coin I am posting here is just a match for country, year and denomination... ...Belgium, German occupation type, 25 centimes, 1946... ...Belgique-Belgie (KM #131). Yes, they made both that year. (As I mentioned, I do have the actual match, and if needed can post that one later.)

Word War II coins of Vichy France. France - Vichy Government 1 & 2 Francs 1942-1944Vichy France was the collaborationist government set up by the Germans after France was defeated by Germany in World War II. Its administrative capital was in the town of Vichy. Though it nominally ruled France, in reality it only controlled the south-eastern portion of the country, while German occupation forces controlled the rest of the nation. The coins were struck in Nazi occupied Paris and circulated in both the German occupied and Vichy controlled portions of France. The aluminum 1 and 2 Franc coins feature a double-headed axe on one side and the denomination flanked by oak leaves on the other. The coins date from 1942 to 1944.

Quote: just a match for country, year and denomination LOL. That is all the match I sought for the 6 points. Whether it starts Belgie or Belgique is all the same to me for purposes of this contest.

Going once, going twice, gone to January1May.
Interesting to see how the contest was interpreted. Crazyb0 and Montcollector both posted coins minted by the allies for occupied countries. My contest was silent in that regard, so I gave them credit. Likewise, Dorado's coin was minted by the rump French government, and gets full credit. I don't know if the Moravian/rump Czech coins were minted by the actual government or the Germans. In any case:
January1May 6 points Spence 5 points bd251 5 points Crazyb0 4 points Montcollector 4 points pepactonius 4 points Canadiancoins 4 points spruett001 4 points Joseph7420 4 points Dorado 4 points fourmark 3 points
