I found this while going through a huge pile of Wheat pennies. One of the most interesting "Cracked Skulls" I have ever encountered. Man, the U.S. Mint really overworked the dies on this one!

Well, I'm blind. I'm not seeing it. Does the crack go to the perimeter?

Yeah. Circulation wear did a number on this Wheat cent unfortunately. But it is what it is. Getting good pictures of this is a bit challenging.

Ah, yes. Now I see. I always assume that a crack extends to the perimeter. Obviously it circulated a bit before it was pulled from use.

Nice find! If it's surrounded by a crack, I agree it's a Retained Die Break, it appears to have vertical metal displacement. If it's not a crack, I'd say it's a Lam. Nice find either way.

Oh yeah CoinMasters. It's surrounded by cracks around it. This post is better than the one with my 2008 LC with a Interior Die Break.
