Came across this penny in pocket change this week, it looks way clean and it looks like possible doubling I was wondering if I could get some opinions. I am in the learning stage, any help would be greatly appreciated.

. Need sharper pix to really tell, suggest highly you do so. This has some traits of a 1970S-1DO-001 which is a VERY HIGH $ Doubled die. . see http://www.coppercoins.com listing for 1970/S/Doubled die obverse. I can see a semblance of a notching on the 7, but any other "doubling" might just be MD since the devices seem reduced in size, not increased. See if your coin matches that in copper coin.

Hey thanks so much Crazyb0,I appreciate your help and information. I took a few more pictures to see what you thought a second time around, I hope these will work. I am learning still, and I get a little mixed up on the errors. So I wouldn't mind getting a better trained eye than mine for the finale results. Thanks again!

Hi, Lemons!

Pictures are still a little too fuzzy for a definitive answer. The doubling on the 70 DDO-001 is very strong as a rule. It could be a different version but need clearer pictures to be sure.

I see some really strong Machine Doubling on the rev in "States", but that's it.
