Its got to the point that I think all grandfathers are corrupt and any coin described as from grandfather I would run from ^^ Maybe my own grandfather was the only guy to leave real coins behind.

That sounds like a fairly baseless generalization.

I have found several nice things from my wife's grandfather's collection that were overlooked because they were foreign. It's about the path of transmittal and the profit-seeking interlopers.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcoming to the community!

Probably the "grandfathers paradox" comes from my age and as a millennial, I'm not yet very enthusiastic about coins or collecting at all. Most of the time goes to other things. As well visiting grandparents, but yeah, this coin really caught my attention and I must admit the 4-5 hours research lighted a little interest in my head. I probably will start looking things from my home market (Estonia), and never say never, maybe I can show some coins to my grandchilds in future ;)

Cheers and you have a very supportive community here!

That's how it starts. Research has a way of lending itself to more necessary research. Then, it's the blue pill or the red pill.

As far as "Grandpa's Collection", be more concerned about the family trying to sell it than Grandpa himself.

It was indeed a generalization, a light-hearted mocking that so many fake coins are sold with a detailed back story concerning receiving a coin from their grandfather.

You seriously thought I was saying my Grandfather was the only honest guy out there?

Sometimes British humour does not translate well, especially in simple text.
