It's been really quiet auction time here in Finland for U.S. coins so I decided to check finnish pawn shop auction. Pawn shop had 5x Morgan dollars for auction with bad picture. I asked for dates (4x common ones and 1883-CC) so I bid and won auction with ~138$ bid. I'll be getting these dollars mon/tue next week and I'll make posts in grading section. Here is picture from auction. I hope for MS coins .

Don't know how that 138$ translates to USD, but sounds like a wonderful bargain! Around here something like those, encapsulated and cased would run conservatively at a minimum of $40 per coin for the COMMONS! It appears in pic that the wings are full and fields clear, very good signs. Thing minimum bids would have been in $250 range with sale at $325+. Looking forward to hands pix!

$138 for 5 Morgans is a great deal in my opinion especially if one is a CC, looking forward to seeing the pics - Congratulations

It's very cool that pawn shops have auctions out there. Please do update with pics.

There's also the risk of counterfeits. Could be a fantastic deal, or a bust. Looks like a nice presentation case, so hoping for the best for you!

Oh no. That looks eerily similar to a set I bought on Amazon a couple of years ago for $5.00. I bought 4 sets and gave the fake Morgans to my daughter to play with. I hope this isn't the same thing. On the cases that I bought it had something like Morgan dollar TRIBUTE SET. Do you have any other photos? The only difference is my sets had the obverse showing, and your case seems to be a bit nicer than the ones I got. I guess we'll find out. Fingers crossed for ya. EDIT: Here's one on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/172527399284These sets were made by the National Collector's Mint. They were marketed as the Million Dollar Morgan Tribute Set. You said yours has common dates and an 1883 CC, so I don't know if it is from a different type of "set" from the same company. The 5-coin configuration in the case appears to be the same except they are flipped around. The good thing is that the Morgans in the picture you posted don't have "COPY" at the bottom of the reverse. That makes me feel better.

No I don't have any other photos. I think this is some sort of all mint mark set since it contains coins from Carson City, Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco and New Orleans. I wish coins were already here so I could take pictures and post those for authenticity and grading.

Quote: Hopefully they are MS, but don't be shocked if they are cleaned A lot of the coins that are put in fancy boxes like this and marketed to very casual or non collectors have been shined up to make them look better to those who know little about the numismatic market. I hope this works out for you. At least if they are genuine and not from China, you will have a fair amount of silver.
