Hello All,

I have his silveer piece in my collection. Which looks arabic and probably is used in a necklace. I was wondering if anyone happens to recognize this type?

I'm really bad with these unless they come already attrubuted, but I seem to recall that square dirhams were mostly made in North Africa and Spain? It's a starting point at least.

It does appear to be one of the issues from Spain, but I can't tell who ruler is.

Here is an interesting article, which appeared in a December 2015 issue of Coin Week, describing the coinage of Islamic Spain. Scroll down to "Almohads (1147-1238)" and you will see a square, silver coin with script very similar to your example.

Hope this helps!
