I wish I went to Baltimore with my daughter this weekend, she is at a flea market, she sent pictures of an 1847o Seated dollar, he only wanted $45.00, appeared to be f12 from phone picture.

1st suspicion $45.00
2nd suspicion looked a bit off the best I could tell
3rd suspicion I looked it up in blue book of u.s. coins, they did not make a New Orleans seated that year.

Decision, I told her to pass on all his coins, the morgans, the V nickels and anything else he had, I wish I could have been there for that one.

Haha. LSDs were only minted in NO in 46, 50, 59 and 60. Good advice to stay clear of that seller without good working knowledge of these coins.

You should post pics of the coin if you have them incl obverse with date and reverse with mintmark.

when daughter gets back sunday with her phone I will try for pics, he had other coins but I told her if he has one counterfeit then..........

I find it especially endearing that your daughter took the time to notify you of potential coin deals. If she looks at coins for you enough, perhaps she will join our forces for the fun we do have.

This is the Seated dollar I got for $50 on ebay last year.
