i have had this in a 2x2 for some time,i put it in a 2x2 cause it was shiny and good shape,was looking tough my coins last nite and found it was all colorful, are zinc cents tone like that?

Any coin can tone in the right conditions.

Nice toning. If you plan on keeping it you may want to do an acetone dip.

Looks like someone put some heat to it. Those copper plated zinc cents tone easily.

Like Mark I first thought heat, but you said put in 2x2 nice. Dollar to a donut that's finger print oil, whether you weren't handling by edge or someone else did. No telling what chemicals, soap,water,food, dirt caused that but locked up and not breathing, you'd turn color too!

My one cent. Most 2000's I come across are in bad shape.

That coin looks really good. Most I've seen have an outer
wear. See a little on the last Zero.

Also I think it has some sort of MAD problem. Anyone
care to elaborate on that?
