Now only if I had some acetone
I own 11 1917d pennies I'll post the best ones for grading later. I'm not too worried about the first two I'll just sell them. The 1916 I so badly want to throw in the trash but I can't bring myself to throw money away

Take them out of the 2x2's and dust them off. It's difficult to tell what's going on.

1917D - EF, your reverse picture shows a much darker patina than the obverse. I don't see any signs of corrosion.

1917D (2) -EF details, cleaned

1916 - Looks to be a mint state coin. I can see some luster in the reverse. Possible old, light cleaning....pictures..

You don't need acetone for these coins, just some air to blow off the debris.

You can throw that 1916 in my trash.

You've received enough good opinion on the three that I'd rather mention a potential problem, especially with copper coins.

Depending on what that dust and debris is, if you leave it in contact with the coins surface for a prolonged period, especially if there is enough humidity in the air, you can end up with tiny toning spots that almost looks like corrosion.

Buy a can of compressed air to blow that stuff off of them. Also, if you like 2x2's as an option for your raw coins (I do too) I'd recommend that you consider the no staples air tight variety as an option.

They are more expensive than standard 2x2's, but they don't have the dust problem, you won't scratch a valuable coin with a staple, and you won't have clouding, continued toning, or spotting, even on mirror finish proofs.

That's a great suggestion moxking the only real reason I use 2x2s is because I had purchased a binder and clear sheets to put my more valuable coins in. If I used the plastic air tites they wouldn't fit in the album. Do they have an airtite album that I can customize to put any coin in? Right now I have a little bit of everything that I could put into an airtight album.
I'm state ting to put together my Lincoln Cent collection and I'm considering investing the money in a caps album for them. What do you guys think?

I use 3 ring binders, 2x2's and airtites....you don't need a special album. The quarter or half dollar size 2x2's accommodate the cent airtites perfectly.
