Hey folks!

I purchased a raw '43 Jefferson doubled eye off ebay, and wanted to send it Anacs for grading and attribution.

I've never submitted anything for grading, so could someone give me a quick rundown of the how-tos with Anacs?

Also, getting this one graded will complete my collection of slabbed Jefferson wartime nickels with all major varieties!

Congrats on your milestone accomplishment!

Just follow the instructions on their website and on the submission form and you should be fine. If you have questions call ANACS.

Take advantage of their grading specials to help lower your costs per coin. (They were running a special recently where you could get 5 coins graded for 75$ and it included return postage!)

Mail your coins insured REGISTERED mail. It takes a little longer to be delivered but is very reliable and secure. Registered mail rarely turns up missing.

I have used them several times and have never had a problem. Good luck!

You may want to call customer service.
I have had very good luck talking to the Vice President, Paul DeFalice.
They can mail you a submission form or you can print one from the website.
Until the end of the month they have a special; 5 coins for $75 which includes free shipping back to you. They want the coins put in 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 flips. Not 2X2s.
It's usually better to submit a group of coins not just a single.

I will PM you with more detailed instructions, including their CO phone number which I don't want to post online.

I recently sent my first coins for TPGing, and I took advantage of the ANACS special. It really is very easy just follow the instructions. I will make these suggestions: 1. take some really good pictures before sending them off. 2. Pay only for the attribution. I was little disappointed with the conservation job and a friend had pictures made and they were not up to expectation either. Congrats on the completion of your sets and good luck.

Mailed off today. I will post images when it returns. It is low grade, but still had the doubled eye nice and visible. Hope anacs agrees!

The grade came in for the DDO, and it's right where I thought it would be and with the attribution I thought!

I knew the grade was low ball, but all I wanted was a slabbed version of this DDO to complete the silver set with all major varieties.

So, it's almost most time to stake the "milestone" sign permanently. I'll post images in the error/variety section when it arrives.

Denomination: 5C
Type: JEFFERSON
Date: 1943
Mintmark: P
Variety: DDO FS-106 DIE 6
Grade: GOOD 4
Superlative: None
