Hey guys I have three wheat pennies here and I'm questioning whether or not they have been cleaned. The 1916 doesn't have a natural luster and the two 1917 d pennies both looked suspicious to me but I'll let you guys be the judge. Also what would you grade them?

IMO only the third one looks suspect. The first two just look corroded/not cleaned.

Third one appears to have been cleaned. It's too bad someone cleaned it because the value goes down.

All look like various degrees of XF but that's not taking the first one's corrosion or third's possible cleaning into account. The second one is by far the best when concerning patina.

I'd check out that 1917 s (second one) over for RPM and doubling. That MM looks funny, may warrant eyeing it (and all three for that matter) with a loop.

EDIT: nevermind, looks like a D with some fuzz on the 2x2 making it look like a screwy 'S'. Still...look at em with a loop just in case!

I saw that shortly after my first post and edited it accordingly. 2x2 trickery.

That's the one downside with 2x2's fuzz and dust like to stick to the plastic making it look bad
Rest in Peace

#2 badly cleaned, leaving two tone layers, VF25 details

#3 chemically cleaned(?-Brasso-?), EF35/XF40 details

Just wanted to let you know Crazyb0 that the "hit on the date" is actually just another piece of fuzz. I should have taken it out of the 2x2 before I took pictures. Sorry about that.
