Hey guys, I've got 2 quarters I'd like your feedback on.

1st one is a 1986 P Washington quarter with pretty good size dent under washingtons chin, it looks like a crater on the obverse. you can see it on the reverse as well more like a bump. Not sure if it's a strike error or just from circulation.

2nd one is a 1984 P Washington quarter with a filled in P mint mark.

Just another .177 cal BB gun hit - and either a broken peg on the D post die or smashed from PMD!

The first was hit by a BB or, more likely a pellet from a higher velocity airgun.

The second is either circulation wear/damage or the tiny die protrusion to create the center hole of "P" broke off.

Neither add much, if any, interest.

Keep searching!

My son in law has a .177 BB gun (rifle) that has a muzzle velocity of 1250 FPS with just one crack of the barrel. That's higher than alot of the .22 LR rounds I have.

Note the glancing blow on the second quarter has made three marks (incuse) on that area. One above and below the mint mark, one on the mint mark. PSD. No premium.
