Theophilus, 829-842 AD. Looks fine to me. Echizento is the local authority on Byzantines. I'm sure he'll chime in with comments later.

SB 1667 or, perhaps more likely, SB 1685 would be my guess.
I don't see anything that would make it fake either.

The legend reads Theophilus Augustus May You Conquer. If you check out my book on the Books downloads and web site you will find the information how to read the legend. Nice coin.

It is a nice coin. You could hope to get it around $30, but many sellers would ask, and maybe even get, more for it.
