Just stumbled upon this in some loose change! It's a gorgeous 2001 D Penny. I was researching PCGS records of these selling for anywhere from $30-$400 MSRD68 to $1000+ MSRD69 at auctions! Most recent big one was about 3 years back for around $330!! Not gonna say this one is rated that good but either way it's a looker. Beautiful shine just as good as new 2017 pennies, and the detail on Lincoln and the reverse steps is fantastic. I took a few pictures in different lighting. They prob won't do it justice. Anyways. What's your opinion?

I don't see any hints of circulation rub, so it is uncirculated. But the best I could see was a 64. Not a coin to consider submitting to an TPG.

Without bursting your bubble your coin is spotty , rim issues top of obverse , hit on reverse left of Memorial ,and according to photos NOT that red. More RB .

AU-58 It's a nice change find but nowhere near 68. To strike gold with one of these you need to search OBW rolls. I've cracked MANY rolls of memorial cents searching for gems....I found many, a good bit of my collection. Here's mine:

And I would add....the BEST place to buy these rolls are at coin shops or shows. Dealers HATE memorial cents and practically give them away. I've bought a ton of rolls for $1-$5 each. If you're lucky, you'll find a jackpot with a dealer who has a bunch of OBW rolls and you can buy them all really cheap ($20-30). They want to get rid of them....and I want to open them. LOL Just look how much the top-pop Memorials are listed for: https://www.PCGS.com/prices/pricegu...ent+(modern)

Have you ever found a 69 or 70 in an OBW roll? Maybe the picture above is the answer to that question. Follow-up: can a non-expert learn to distinguish between 67's, and the obviously much more rare grades above that?
