Do you think this has potential to be a cameo proof or maybe even deep cameo?

Don't like the lighting on those, too much reflective makes fields appear flawless. No way. That said, seems a high grade coin for sure maybe a DMPL?

Thanks for the move. I wasn't sure if it should be in grading or not asking about cameo.

It may not be as flawless looking as in the pics but, that's not my main concern. My question is whether you think it is actually at least a cameo proof or if it's just the angle/lighting.

Especially on the bust, the devices look frosted to me. For the price I could probably get it, a DCAM 1955 proof would be a score!

Yes I agree photos of this proof are probably deceiving .However it does not look to be a brilliant proof which are more common than cameos in the earlier years . So it may not be deep cameo ,but its at least cameo proof in my opinion .

I'm really not seeing the frosting.

On another note, I appreciate all proof Jeffs being posted here.
There are a butt-ton of DDs. Unfortunately, the angel this pic is at,
makes it darn near impossible to pick up any markers.

I wasn't aware there were so many Jefferson proof DDs. I'll have to take a closer look at mine. If I win the one shown here, I'll post pics "in-hand" for all to see what it actually is.

So, I did end up winning it while I was asleep.

Last night I made a comparison pic of the one I purchased (assured by the seller to be as pictured) and another 1955 proof from the same seller. So, same photo setup and a similar shot angle. This is why the one I asked about (left) stood out so much:

1955-Jefferson-Nickel-Proof:-Cam?

I also noticed that the lettering looks a little thinner on the left coin, giving credence to it being struck with an earlier state die and, thus, being cameo. Maybe?

Anyway, I know this isn't earth-shattering but I'll update when I receive the coin.

I firmly believe that those are 2 Nickels are different from each other . The one on the right is called a Brilliant Proof . The one on the left sure does look like a Cameo.

Congrats! I watched the auctions and looked them all over, every date they had LOL.
I knew you would be on that nickel ( rooting for you all the time ) and I think you will be pleasantly surprised when it arrives. Nice cherry pick. That's the way to do it.
Looks like an excellent source for singles, hope you get the right one in the mail.

If it's not a Cameo, it's darn close. Hope it looks as nice, or better, in hand.
