I found this metal detecting the shape of it for a token seems odd to me. I think its from around 1906 or so. What could it be worth anyone know? Also I found like 30 or so dragon type coins in a pecan orchard behind house metal detecting are they valuable. I dont have pics yet for those they are crudded up with dirt I cant get off. Any tips on cleaning them without harm ? I know cleaning is bead for coins but sometimes they need it and these have japanese or chinease writing on them not american. I think it cant hurt they look kind of old. ty for reading : )

The value of merchant tokens, which this is, is determined by the number of collectors for a particular type.

There are a lot of collectors that only collect one state, and they try to get at least one token from every city or town that had any issued for that location. In other words, they only one a single token from each "place".

There are also collectors of odd denominations (value), every token from a particular state or region, merchant type - such as barber shop, saloon, cigar, or other merchant types.

The token you have is from an easy location to find. Tallahassee has enough different tokens that there are probably collectors of that location only.

The condition of your token is considered environmentally damaged, so the value is affected by that, too.

Try looking up the shop on google, or any other search engine, as well as ebay for either available or sold listings of this particular issue.
