Royal Canadian Mint - This quartet pays tribute to 30 years of history through its creative take on the idea of a fractional set. Each of the four pure silver coins is square-shaped, and features a fraction of a reverse design by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc. When placed together to form a larger square, the four reverse images come together as one: a sugar maple leaf (Acer saccharum), whose likeness has graced the reverse of the Royal Canadian Mint's Silver Maple Leaf (SML) bullion coin since 1988. A reverse proof finish and selective rose gold plating colourfully enhance the elegance and brilliance of the engraved leaf, which is near life-like thanks to the precise rendering of fine details such as the leaf's deeply etched veins. Also engraved on the reverse are the commemorative years "1988" and "2018", the word "CANADA", and a "9999 Ag" purity notation. The obverse features the rose gold-plated effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

I noticed they removed the 1/4 ounce wording they had on the first release of this type of coin :P.
The picture makes the leaf almost look real, I fear the real product wont look anything like this picture.

Imo, splitting Maple Leaf to pieces doesn't reflect the topic, that coin commemorates.

Not the same visual pleasure.

If they wanted to make a tribute to idea of Fractional set, but in creative way, better to do Square coins, where full Maple Leaf on each of them.
Or, to make fractions as circles, while all together combined, they will represent a coin, and the Maple Leaf in the middle...

It's likely that they will be found for less in the future, but it's hard to say by how much. The 2017 version of the SML quartet can sometimes be found for less than original issue price, but several sources still have it at issue.

I don't think these sets were very popular with collectors, so the secondary market hasn't been flooded with them.
