I'm comparing a PCGS FDOI SP69 Enhanced Unc Set Sacagawea with a PCGS FDOI SP70 Denver ANA Sacagawea and can't find a bit of difference. Under 3X, 6X and 20X magnification, I'm not seeing anything to warrant the grade difference.

Wondering what the TPG's look at to separate 69s from the 70s?

From what I've read, there is no difference in many cases. You may send the same coin in 5 times and get a 70 twice and a 69 three times. I've even seen many 70s with marks or other distracting features that should have affected their grade but didn't. As many others always say, buy the coin, not the slab.

Bought the slab this time, LibertyEagle20, just to see if there is a difference between the two grades.

The twenty bucks I spent appears to show no difference between SP69/SP70 much like no apparent difference between MS66/MS67 in modern mint state coins.

The flip them. If they land tails up they get a 69, heads up a 70.

Seriously, I have no idea. I will never pay a premium for a 70.

But I am glad you did; took one for the team to prove a point.

Basically anything that isn't as struck. Could be anything from spotting, to tiny speck that is pretty well hidden or a hit or even something the packaging itself did. Some of the finishes they use do a lot better than others
