I received one as a gift along with a set of weights. I have zeroed it out but all weights in grams read double the actual weight - that is a 20 gram weight gives a 40 gram readout?

Do I simply have a defective model, or is there an adjustment I am not aware of. The instruction sheet makes no mention of such an adjustment; its translation from Chinese leaves much to be desired.
