I have come across what I believe to be a genuine 1958 DDO. Any comments, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Image courtesy of PCGS CoinFacts. If you can look at it without getting a headache, it ain't the DDO.

As the image that SsuperDdave posted, it would be quite obvious. The OP appears to Machine Doubling, a conversation piece at best. BUT...keep looking!

I think it's Strike Doubling. Better pictures would be nice.

Only two of these known. Probably noticed the variety and pulled it when the run started.

Or they are sitting on a shelf in some OBW rolls!

Or they've been corroded to oblivion, worn to oblivion, sitting in a jar, buried underground, in a vault, in a bank, stuck in a cash register, at the bottom of a lake, stashed under a bed, stuck in a piece of furniture headed for the dump, in some oblivious person's pocket at this very moment, being spent at this very moment, in someone's gut, in an old shoe, hiding in the dusty corners of a mint room, under a carpet, in a giant change bin, in a fake unsearched roll on ebay, being dug up right now, graffitied away, carved away, in a vintage vending machine, in an old piggy bank at the back of someone's attic, at the bottom of a garbage bag, in the sewer, blah blah blah I'm out of ideas.

A few may have slip through the cracks, but QC would have caught it right away and be destroy afterward.

Keep looking!

RCB, are you ok!! let's take it easy now, it is OP's first post and we want him/her to come back and post again

Centhunter, the doubling is evident, but at this point, from this Pic. it looks more like MDafter posting and looking at it again, a better focused pic is needed I don't see the typical characteristics of MD

The-Elusive-1958-Cent-DDO?

By the way to Community.
