So I think I've finally found a keeper! I really need some advice on taking pics. This is ridiculously hard to do!

Looks like MD as the letters are getting skinnier where the doubling appears. but then the date shows some slight notching, especially on the 9.

Mark, that is not MD on IGWT. It shows separation lines. It's a DDO. We don't want him to lose money.

At least I didn't say it was only worth one cent!!

When I enlarge the picture I see what you mean - but tell me that E doesn't get skinny!

That E does get a little skinny, but at least it has real doubling on it too.

Looking up Wexlers die varieties it closely resembles the WDDO-006 Doubled Die variety. No idea of value though.

Dilworth,

Yes, a very nice doubled die. There are three fairly similar ones, so you should go to this page:

http://varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20...O%201972.htm

and look at the varieties 3, 6 and 8. It looks like 003 to me, and looks like it has that little gouge down at the bottom right of the bust that would verify it. But use the photos on those web pages to hunt down some of the little die markers that verify exactly which one it is.

Really nice find.

Bats, the 003 and the 006 are kinda close but I do believe you are correct on the 003! Nice call.
