1988 Lincoln cents are ALL wide. It's the 1998 Wide AM you should keep an eye out for.

This is normal as all of 1988 cents are Wide AM's. What you want to look for is the 1998, 1999, and 2000 Wide AM Lincoln cents.
Errers and Varietys.

It's a normal 1988. The 1988 with reverse of 1989 has a G with serifs, not a straight G on the FG. While it is the same reverse design known as the " Wide AM" on the 1998-2000s, it should not be referred to as a " Wide AM". As said already, all 1988s will have a gap between the A & M. You are looking for Reverse Design Variety 006 (RDV-006). The normal reverse for 1988 is RDV-005. The coin you have pictured is a normal RDV-005. There is a 1988 p&d variety. An 1988 (p&d). They have the rdv-006 reverse. The "FG" is different.
