Can you please tell me if anyone has heard of an extra beard on a 1992 penny? I can only find it about other years? Thanks for your help

Chase007, the funny thing about the "Extra Beard" is it's actually caused by a tilted Die Clash. At one time, this was thought to be a DDO.

Errers and Varietys - above caught my interest concerning the 2000 extra beard. Do you have a source (link) to the above tilted die clash reverence?

Curious because the only reference(s) I can find pertaining to the 2000 cent being tilted is a single squeeze hubbing process linked below.

It is more appropriately referred to as a "tilted hub with a rotational pivot,".

Hold on, I'll try finding that reference again. Here take a look at this. It has been debunked as a Die Clash and not a Doubled Die Obverse. I am wrong. It isn't a tilted Die Clash as I read Ken Potter's article. koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/20001cExtraBeardStoryForNN.htmwww. coppercoins.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3638 Halo read the first one on Ken Potter's page.

Here you go Chase, click on this. I was wrong on it being a Tilted Die Clash. Page is outdated and images won't load, but the text will show up just fine. http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/...oryForNN.htm.

Your welcome Chase. If you ever find one, keep it and put it in a flip case.

Thanks for the follow up Errers and Varietys. Now have another bookmark along with another Ken Potter quote I like.

Quote:
"It is a lesson that reaffirms what many researchers already know, (or should know), which is that overlays that "fit" do not always necessarily confirm a variety even when they seem to do so at first glance."

What puzzled me was "tilted die clash". They tend to be farther towards the outside edge. Thanks, Doug.
