Any opinions on this insider deal. Are the ANACS slabs woth getting?

Insiders pay just $129 for the first 15 coins, then $9 for each additional coin...and return shipping is still FREE.

On cheaper coins its a real good deal or coins that wouldn't be worth the normal PCGS/NGC fee. Can be good for gold too that trades near melt that just needs to be authenticated to be more liquid. For more expensive coins though you'd almost certainly be giving up more value than you save in grading fees by not using PCGS or NGC.

Everyone has their own limitation on the price a coin should be worth after encapsulation. I only send $200+ to NGC, and then only if my buy price was minimum.

I like it mostly for coins under 100. If the overwhelming value of the coin is it's metal price up to the max value they allow

Gold isn't included in the insider special(s), and isn't included in the current promotion.

I'm with Moxking on the $200 value, but with the ANACS specials, I'll also throw in lower end coins (even as low as $50 value) if there is something about the coin that I feel slabbing would benefit either it's resale value, or just as an added layer of protection. On the last insider special (8 for $75), I messed up and only sent in 7, as at the time that's what I had for higher value coins, or coins that I wanted variety attribution for. Right now I probably have 10-12 coins ready for this special, and I'll throw in some 'clunkers' just to make the 15. At <$9 per coin, it's almost silly not to get something graded.

US Minted gold coins with a value of $500 or less are indeed included in the specials. I have taken advantage of this offering several times. I emailed customer service and clarified before ever sending the first one.

Yes it is unless they specifically exclude it. I don't see it excluded anywhere on this one.

Item #8 on the list for the special says:

Quote:
All Economy service rules and restrictions apply.

Economy service specifically says no gold:

Quote:
Economy
(5-COIN MIN., No Gold) $15
max value: $500/coin

So, I read that as: No gold coins for the fall special.

Hmmm. Usually they specifically say no gold on the sheet if they don't want it. I bet some special submissions have already been on the way with a gold in it from how they advertised it

Is it necessary to send coins registered mail.......value of 15 coins is about $800. Is insurance good enough?
