Any thoughts on if this 1871 Ca 8 reales is an overdate of 1871 / 1870 ?
Looks like it to me, but I'm not sure...

Not only does it look like a 1 over 0 overdate, I think both M s in assayers initials are inverted too.

Any help?

Doesn't look like it - rather a combo of radial flow/stress lines and toning/toning shadow around the lettering.

Yes, I see what you mean. Oh well. Was hoping it was the overdate. Was also surprised that Dragon's teeth were used this early at Chihuahua.
