Looking to see if any body seen this before share info about this this could be a error when I found the 1972d I put it to the side waiting to see one pop up so six mouth pass in ran a cross 5 more all pre silver the 1976-1776s have two that weigh 2.45 2,24 the rest weigh 2.26 1971d half dollar as well here they go

That's MD. Since the ear is the deepest point in the die(reversed image), any slight bounce upon the strike will first show there. MD is strike MOVEMENT of the die, Doubled Dies are a PRODUCT of the making of the working dies. Read my little ditty book listed below!
