Hello everyone!
I wanted your opinion on this Barber half dollar graded by NGC. I have been trying to finish my 20th century type set for some time now (I am only missing the barber half and quarter). I recently picked up this Barber half dollar for a reasonable price. What grade would you guys give? I will post the grade in 24 hours. Thank you everyone in advance!

Wingtips and top edge of the wings are mostly worn away, as is most of the forehead hair. Original Mint bloom on the cheek is completely gone. Still retains very nice luster, so I suspect it's been rewarded with AU55 when AU53 is probably more accurate technically. It's a very nice Type coin with no distractions in the fields.

My grade 55, NGC probably said 58. Really pretty coin!

AU-55 With obvious wear on most high spots . Original and no problems .

Thank you so much everyone! Majority of the members got it right on! NGC graded this Barber half dollar AU55. I completely agree with what SsuperDdave said. Anyway, I want to crack this coin out to put it in my album, but I am worried that if I resubmit to be graded in the future, it will receive a AU53 grade. I'm not sure... what do you guys think?

I wouldn't be too worried about cracking it. The price difference in grade is more than made up for by the fact that the remaining luster is outstanding for the level of wear. Discerning buyers would jump at this one in 53 or 55.
