I wonder if anyone knows what the other side of this medal looks like. It is apparently found in the more deluxe prooflike specimen set for 1967 Canada coins.
Are these relatively inexpensive and common silver medals?

The set that these came in was a PL set as shown here :https://www.google.ca/amp/s/canadia...-canada/amp/

They are a very nice set and a little harder to find than their gold counterparts. Also hard to find untoned sets.

Well thank you very much! I see these 1967 coins in the set are very cameo. I was thinking of making up my own. I thought out of the 2 1967 sets I have, one might be the specimen set as it looks much more prooflike than the other and is in a Capital or Whitman Holder.
I was thinking of adding it to keep along with that set, but I guess my set falls short in the cameo dept.
The medal is not exactly a breathtaking design is it?
Looking on the internet now I have found some singles in a box and fake leather snap closing pouch like holder. They look to run around $15 USD and up. They look to have less than a half oz of .925 silver.
I think if I find an empty case for all the 1967 coins and medal, I might go after this medal later.
Have a great day!

I think they were sold seperately as well. I have a few in vinyl wallets with the centennial logo on them.
The medallions are 24.5 grams of .925. School kids were handed out the bronze version for free in 1967.

Thanks rockfish, yes I have found a few in the wallets. Prices vary but there are some nice ones that are closer to spot levels with a couple bucks added for the numismatic value.
I also see it is larger than I had thought, probably silver dollar sized.
Here's my set I was going to add one to but I think it is under par for the "real" cased sets that are prooflike and more cameo.
Mine is pretty nice here, and compared to the other one I have in the cello packet in the envelope, it is more prooflike than that, although that set is quite nice too, it is clearly just above average circulation strikes.

By the way, the image I post looks considerably worse than the coins in hand.

I just happened to pick up one of these medals a few weeks ago at my LCS, among some Canadian silver dollars I bought.
It is called an Canadian Confederation medal (not to be confused with the Canadian Centennial medal, which is a military style medal, also issued in 1967, different design, with a ribbon attached)
The Confederation medal in copper was given to all Canadian school children in in 1967
The silver version seems to be worth a little more than a typical Canadian silver dollar, though not by a large amount.

Thank you Dorado, it appears you have supplied an image of those they gave out in schools. The bronze ones.
