I just checked my email and found that crazy responded, so I'll send it off to him today.

BTW, the steps are sharp.

Considering the photos, I think it could be a proof. It might help to take another photo at the opposite angle to highlight the part of the rim that looks irregular in this shot. It might show it more squared.

Regardless, it is a darn nice find and worthy of celebration.

Man, if that is NOT a proof, it is worth a good bit of money. If it was mine, I would be hoping for business strike...

Edit:
Best I can tell, PCGS price guide for 1961 FS in MS-63 is in the $700 range!

Bump, I hope you're right, but there's no way it isn't a proof.

I'll tell you, you guys are tough crowd. I'm going to have to up my game and get a decent copy stand so I can take photos that meet your very exacting standards! And figure out how to make sure the photos are posted right side up...

Crazy, the coin goes out to you in the morning.

In the same box a found a proof-like 1963D. Great fields, almost mirror like, but the strike isn't that strong, and the D... Even I can tell it isn't a proof.

Anyway, I'm having a blast with this box and with all the controversy it's stirred up.
Rest in Peace

The more I looked at it in closeup, previously posted the more it was a head scratch..have a note in to Coop about the massive amount of rim finning, tha'ts what I don't get, not normally seen on proofs. But fields and elements are pointing to Proof. I'll try my scope for better pix, see what pops out.

Photos do not have to be perfect, just adequate.
