Hello, I hope you all are having a nice day. My best friend is a manager at a bank and sends me texts if any cool coins come in that I might like.

Yesterday I received her mail and she had a $25 box of pennies all of them were brought in by a little old lady. Also in the package was handful of dimes and nickels about 60 1976 bicentennial Quarters, 2 SBA dollars, 2 President dollars, 1 sac dollar, and 6 late 60's-70's and a 1976 50c pieces.

I have not had much time to look at them yet but I have found quite a bit nice Doubled Dies and Errors.
I came across this Quarter and would like your thoughts on it. Is it missing Clad, Experimental Planchet, or another Error all together?

Weight: 5.72g

Diameter: 26.10

Thickness: 1.98

If anybody wants to give me their thoughts about the coin I would be grateful. I think there are 5 different types of Experimental Quarters and that they so far are slightly more weight.

The edge shows the layers of metal, so I suspect environmental damage.

Oh yeah I forgot it could be damaged I convinced myself it was a error coin. That response is helpful thank you and even if it turns out to be damaged it is still nifty so it will be a keeper =D.

Is the diameter really 26.10? The weight is .05g over specs but may be within tolerance.

I just measured it again but this time took it out of the 2x2 it was 24.38mm made sure to zero my caliper this time. The weight is the correct number stated. So I would assume it is looking more like damaged.
Rest in Peace

Just a little toning. Leave a quarter on a window sill for a bit and they darken pretty quick.

Well that is a fun fact good to know. Thanks everyone seems like I got my answer. Not the one I hoped but the Quarter is a keeper still so I am happy enough.
