I think I've got my hands on a missing clad error coin. The strike is very clear and prominent compared to other missing clad coins I've seen on here, so I'm not positive but it did weigh 4.7 grams on the scale. If it is a real mint error, just how rare is this piece? Should I get it graded?

It is 2008-P Arizona Statehood Quarter, actually one with the extra cactus.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Here are a few pics & a link to the full Imgur album with edge & scale pics

to CCF. Going by your pics it looks real. Check ebay sold values for current values but I do not think it is worth slabbing. Nice find though and Air-Tite worthy.

Thanks for the reply John. Just curious, whats the reason behind not getting it slabbed? I checked ebay & most of the higher value ones were graded.

The coins retail value needs to be $200 give/take a little to justify the costs involved to have it TPGed.

Looks good and the weight, though a little high is believable. I think you have a winner. It's nice when someone that comes here claiming a missing clad actually has one. Probably less than one percent of the claimed missing clad coins really are.
