First ,this is not a 1923 Lincoln . Second this 1891 Seated dime has been cleaned . and what the heck is written in center of shield ,it certainly is not Liberty .

Wear on highs, ear cheek tei and coat, reverse lettering. Still some luster on a nicely toned Woodie. The reverse saves it from an XF, will go AU-53. Asuprisingly well struck coin, would look really nice in myyour collection! And yeah, what's going on widdat dime and shield!

I'm not sure about the vertical white lines on the obverse and reverse.

Thanks, crazyb0. As long as it hasn't been cleaned, I'm ok with it, even though it looks like I overspent on this one.

Nice coin - does not appear to have been harshly cleaned. With rim ding on reverse and light wear on obverse, would certainly consider buying if the price was right.

I paid $24 for the Lincoln Cent and I was thinking of returning it.

It's not a great buy at that price, but this LWC hasn't been cleaned.

LC, may be a bit steep, but a 23 with that solid of a reverse strike is had to come by. Compare around before you return, may not find another that solid. And it's a Woodie, notice the stirations under the right stalk towards rim through original luster, those wouldn'tr show like that if cleaned.

Are all those white vertical lines normal?

A bit high for an average XF/AU but I would say that is not your average cent. Very nice eye appeal.

That's a nice looking coin, just a little, light wood-graining, the surfaces appear original. It should have some cartwheel luster under the toning. Appears to be mint state, that reverse is strong...it's all in the luster to figure out if it's MS or AU.
Full cartwheels on both sides = MS Broken luster = AU-58
AU-63

Quote: Are all those white vertical lines normal? Normal for a woody, they are like snowflakes, no two are alike. The mint had alloy issues throughout the 20's. Some of the best woodies come from that decade. I'm leaning toward MS with your coin. My 1923 also exhibits weakness on the obverse high points and it's mint state:
