Proof Like Peace dollar. Proof Like strikes are more common on Morgan dollars, but rarely seen on Peace dollars! Just pulled from an OBW Roll" Is there any validity to this statement? If not, what is the real scoop? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1922-Peace-...refresh=true If it turns out to be true (getting $ 400+ instead of $ 35) for a proof or proof-like Peace, how might a TPG's designation on a slab for this coin read? Other that the typical increase in value for any slabbed coin vs the same coin un-slabbed what additional incentive would there be to have a proof or proof-like Peace slabbed? moxking Rest in Peace United States 17900 Posts	Posted 09/30/2017 8:41 pm This is a burnished coin. Note where the tool left skitter marks just below the chin. This coin is worth $18. Proof like Peace are rare. Indication on a TPG would be PL. Check Heritage sold lots for photos of the real thing and values actually paid. Report this Post to the Staff

Like moxking said, PL Peace dollars are rare and if graded, PCGS or NGC would indicate it by a PL designation. This guy is hoping for some "sucker" to come along and pay his outrageous price.
