Hi guys. I know this is kind of lame but I kept this 1991 loonie I got in my change. the queen's face is really frosty. The rest of the loonie looks pretty typical.

I don't think I've seen another just like it. Any help would be appreciated!

to CCF. Most likely a proof coin found in circulation. When a proof coin is found in circulation,it is referred to as an impaired proof.

to CCF krystal.
Your question is not "lame", especially when you are talking about the beloved loonie! From the picture it looks like you have a proof example that has made it's way into circulation at some time.
Better pics of both sides will tell us more.
Is the loon on the other side frosty as well? If yes than proof for sure.
CRH's (coin roll hunters) search for a long time before they find a proof coin in a roll. This would be a great score from pocket change.

MM not really, that I can see! The loon is fairly typical. That is why I asked. I've seen frosty proofs before, but generally it isn't the bust of the queen that's frosty but the rest of the coin. I just listed it on for a few bucks. It's not in the greatest of shape :)

A proof finish is defined as frosted relief against a mirror field. So it is the Queens bust that is frosty, not the field.
Still think it is a proof.
