Good advice to ask for the bag's weight, then the calculation becomes easy.

I think you have to pay over melt to get Mercs, maybe 12.2x as they sell at 12.7x - 13x. Offering 10x or 11x is a joke and you'll just get laughed at. No one sells them for that.

A $10,000+ purchase is nothing like a much smaller purchase. The X factor is considerably less.

I would pay melt minus a 10-15% holdback for processing. I'd then sort them into lots of 50 and 100 using a coin counter, cherrypick anything with numismatic value, and list the lots on ebay as BIN's at 5-15% above melt.

Without knowing the average condition I would agree with most the suggested prices, if it was Fine to EF and some AU then the prices would be higher.

I wouldn't even try for this one. To many possible errors and problems. How is it an exact amount of 10,000? How worn are they? Where did they come from? It's just to much of a gamble for that kind of money.

There was a major bullion dealer at a show I was at today paying $11.25 x face. There is a national dealer offering $11.05 x face sight unseen online. I'd buy it at 11x comfortably and flip it to a dealer. Offering 10x is a joke. Most dealers today were selling at 12.5x. I bought $100 face at 12x, which is below melt and was the lowest price offered at the show.

if you can pay 10x for 10,000 Mercury dimes, immediately flip them to a dealer and get your money back + profit in the form of money or merc dimes. As andrew99 said, many large dealers are paying over 10x for 90%

I'd pay $10,000 or 10x face. That's Normally what I pay when I buy junk silver from people with deals. This way it leaves a little wiggle room to make some $ after I go through them all for errors, varieties and key dates

Be careful. Check them with a magnet. Many fakes of Mercury dimes out there.
