Wow, I am gone for a little while, and I immediately miss one of the nicest runs of early medieval I have seen in a long while! You've sure posted some impressive coins over the past couple of days, great job, that must have been worth all those hours spent on the field! All of you're the coins you posted are of course fantastic, but this one has to be my favourite. You've posted a couple that might be in better quality or even rare than this type, but the way the ship has been shaped is so very typical of this period, it has almost become synonymous with it. Besides that, Dorestad is perhaps the most important international contribution that ever came out of the Netherlands, and one of the key-sites in early Medieval history. Again, incredible finds!
