Agreed that they are fun looks. Hope I don't see any more fakes for sale.

Thanks Bob. I see a few in Frank's auction I will throw a few bids at.

Another disappointing auction from Frank (in my opinion). For his auction #102, I count a total of eight lots with descriptions that either acknowledge that that piece is a copy or at least hinted as being potential fakes. These lot numbers are: 4, 54, 62, 238, 262, 349, 420, and 433. Particularly disturbing to me are his descriptions of how convincing the fakes are..."excellent struck copy", "excellent work", "attractive heavy piece", "likely a high-end counterfeit". Therefore, this is another FSR auction in which I am not planning to participate. As I have stated before, it is my opinion that including known fakes in your auctions devalues and calls into question all of the other coins that you are selling.

I just received my coins from the last vauctions today.
I had a look at the FSR auction but nothing of interest to me so will not be bidding.

Dave, I suspect you'd probably consider the bolded parts of Frank's blanket email announcement below to be rather ironic. Just got this today: Hi, Auction 102 will close Nov. 20 — 517 lots of ancient and early coins, mostly good stuff, with low starting bids. Includes group lots, literature, and some fixed price specials. Catalog, with photos, begins at: http://www.fsrcoin.com/a.htmlBid simply by e-mailing me; or fax, phone, or snail mail. Note, in my never-ending improvement effort, I have tried to make the text part more reader-friendly. This took extra work, but I hope you like it. Also a caution, ebay is ever more loaded with fakes. Many are LOL screamers, but some very deceptive. I see many obvious fakes nevertheless receiving numerous bids from suckers. I try to bid only on coins I'm sure are genuine, but don't always get that right myself. So beware.Best regards, Frank S. Robinson

Yep saw that. Ironic, but disappointing that he too continues to sell known fakes.
