I've bee slowly looking a bit harder at a couple of thousand Lincoln Cents I had purchased from the local bank. This 1994D reverse shows an oddity on the left side of the Memorial, between columns 8 and 10, with a diagonal raised portion in each bay. Since no double dies list this occurrence, I have to guess that this is something else, possibly just a lamination problem. Any Ideas. Thanks

Could be just a couple linear plating blisters

Don't have the exact overlay, but think that's a die clash. Bay 9 definitely is beard and 8 may be a crease of lips Good eyes! Show me the rest of the coin, Bays 1,2,3 and obverse Whole...

It is not a clash. Note how that area of the die is not in show that in the design. The bays area the outside edge of the die, the devices are deeper into the die. So some contact has flatten the bays a bit and now show raised areas on the coins struck with this die. So it is from die damage.

Based on what I see, I would have to think this is some kind of planchet damage, or maybe, as suggested, die damage. The obverse doesn't seem to show well for something like clashed dies. But I really have never seen such. Maybe only parts of the obverse would show. I will wait on the experts.
Anyway, Do I toss this coin, or is it a keeper, even if it is worthless? Caley Ann

It might help (if possible) to draw arrows on your pictures pointing to the exact area of concern. I'm having trouble seeing anything on your new pics. If there is metal sticking up in the bays that is damage to the dies or plating blisters.

Not worth going through all the trouble of trying to illustrate a photo. On the second photo of my last post that had several photos, you'll note on a left side bay an extension of what is in that bay in the original photo posted, that extends down into the steps.
Yes, I think it is just a plating flaw, blisters. The bottom line with the extension is too irregular, and looks bubbly.
