Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 10/17/2017 1:15 pm I had already scored a coin from a UK seller who charges like $11 in shipping, so I spent the past week trying to win other items on middling bids. Got this for just over $4. Seller couldn't identify it, but guessed it was a Celtic issue from the black Sea region, c. 2-3rd century BC. I can't find any evidence to even remotely support that hypothesis. AR "obol" 7mm, 0.36g Crowned, bearded head left Legend AHV/DV/MV? Seller's pics, will be a few weeks before it arrives. Initial searches have come up with zilch. I love a good challenge, but I'll take any ideas that pop up. Report this Post to the Staff

Pertinax Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2133 Posts	Posted 10/20/2017 6:51 pm $11 is actually marginally less than cost for a International Tracked & Signed packet from UK to USA and doesn't include any money for the packaging. If you know a cheaper way to send coins safely to USA, please let the rest of us in on the secret. I never send anything by ordinary post now since 1/4 of packages never arrive. USPS seems to be useful; they don't respond to emails and don't answer the phone. Report this Post to the Staff

I once sold a small lot of coins to an international buyer... the cheapest option on ebay was $35! Ended up taking it to the post office and saying "I need to ship this for as little money as possible." Which worked out to be $17, and it was confiscated by foreign customs and never seen again. I'm envious of my sellers in India who can ship 4-5 ounces for the equivalent of $2.50. Report this Post to the Staff

I asked if he could do cheaper shipping since it was only about 10 dollars for the coins I bought and he said "Yes I can send by normal post for £3.50 at your risk."
