Yes it does look like a Woody, but your pics. have too much glare to determine accurately.Can you post a bit larger pics. with reduced white balance? it'll help.

 I see no missing layers. Unless you mean the streaking as layering?

There are no layers on a full 95% copper alloy coin. Its not a woodie either, those/are roller lines, look at the wheat tips and cross hatched pattern

The reverse side looks almost silver gray with just a hint of copper color on the left wheat stock.
