eBay's a no. Everyone treats anything remotely of age to be solid gold.
Where do you think I could snatch a decent looking, fairly priced (under $20 or so) roman or Greek coin?

You might want to try VCoins Advanced Search function: https://www.vcoins.com/en/Search.aspx

Make sure just "Ancient Coins" is highlighted at the top (not " US coins" or "World Coins"), then set the "Price Between" fields to "0" and "20" USD. Make sure "All dates" is highlighted, then hit search and enjoy the hunt.

Depends on what you want. You aren't likely to find a problem-free ancient for under $20, but you can get some handsome ancients with maybe a bit of a flat strike or patchy patina for very cheap.

Shoot me a PM - I'm working on a new sale to downsize.

I second Vcoins for the place to look.
